Jake Watson

Research Assistant

Campus:
IU, IU Indianapolis

Jake Watson studies Health Communication in the PhD program at IUPUI, where he also earned his BA and MA in Communication Studies. He also holds an AA degree in American Sign Language.

In addition to working as an associate researcher with the GHCC, he holds a research assistantship with the department of Communication Studies. His research interests include, among others: mental health, community engagement, visual and audio storytelling, health equity, patient-provider communication, and action research.

Jake serves on the governing board of the Communication as Social Construction Division of NCA. At IUPUI, he has served as a Service Learning Assistant, a paper reviewer for departmental awards, a teaching assistant for a study abroad course, and a planning committee member for the SLA and School of Philanthropy Graduate Student Day of Scholarship.

Jake's professional background includes education and youth development, cycling advocacy and infrastructure, and theatrical and musical performance.
