Susan Parrish-Sprowl, Ph.D., LCSW is the President of Parrish-Sprowl & Associates, Inc., a provider of psychotherapeutic, educational, and organizational consulting services, and is a primary consultant with the Global Health Communication Center (GHCC) in the Indiana University School of Liberal Arts. She has extensive training and experience in the treatment of emotional and relationship issues, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma and recovery, work-related stress, and interpersonal conflict, and has provided education and training in these areas to a variety of groups including physicians, nurses, mental health professionals, healthcare workers, humanitarian aid workers, business leaders, educators, and community groups.
As part of her work with the Global Health Communication Center, Dr. Parrish-Sprowl worked with its Director, Professor John Parrish-Sprowl, to create and develop Communication for Whole Health, a framework for consultative services to individuals, organizations, and communities to assess human communication systems, identify problems leading to poor health outcomes, and design integrative interventions for systemic change to improve health-related functioning and promote health system resiliency. She is currently consulting with and providing education and training to healthcare professionals serving refugee populations in the Middle East, focusing on the integration of mental health and psychosocial support services into primary health care settings using the Communication for Whole Health approach.
